WHAT DOES GARAGISTIC MEAN?

The name Garagistic is derived from the Italian word garagisti which was first uttered from the mouth of Ferrari founder, Enzo Ferrari in the 1960s. Enzo was known to use the word as an insult to describe the outset British F1 racing teams of the 60s, whose racing cars were built in their sheds or garages instead of a big expensive facility such as the Italian manufacturers were renowned for. Garagist: the garage teams. At the time, the word garagisti was often the language used by the Italians when referencing a man by the name of Bruce Mclaren, Founder of McLaren Automotive. Bruce's parents owned a small service station in New Zealand, where he infamously spent the majority of his free time working in the garage on his racing motorcycles, and later cars. From then on, "garage teams" have had an immense supercar chip on their shoulder that equals the ego of supercar owners. We wear the Garagistic name with pride as we build our racecars from our garages, intending to take out cars worth 4x the cost of ours. We believe that building is always greater than buying, and are proud to be Garagisti.
