TECH 53 - BMW E46 Differential Bushing Kit

We know how quick the differential bushings wear on the BMW E46 & Z4. They share the same subframe, which has two differential bushings in the front, and a bigger one in the rear. The 3 differential bushings are put through a lot of stress at every acceleration. Their job is to keep the differential in place. They wear everytime the engine loads power on the drivetrain. They are made of rubber from the factory. Rubber is a good damping material, but it wears quickly. If left unaddressed, the differential will move up and down, creating abnormal sounds and putting other drivetrain components, such as your axles, at a higher risk of failure.

Do I need differential bushings?
If you plan on enjoying your car, then we recommend it. Upgrading the differential bushings is benefical to everyone who owns these BMW. The factory differential bushings are so bad, daily driving is enough to wear them down. It is one of the most profitable maintenance you can give your BMW. The material behind our design is made to last forever. We provide a lifetime warranty on this kit. If you hear a clonk noise when releasing the clutch, you definitely need to replace them.

I plan on taking my car to track days, is this good enough?
Yes. Every bushing we manufacture is made to withstand the abuse road racing or drifting can put on them. Our internal sleeves are made of strong and lightweight 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum. The outer sleeves are made in Delrin, a resilient material that keeps the components in place, while retaining a minimum of comfort.

How is this kit different from the others?
The way our inner / outer sleeves are designed, the bushings compress against the subframe when the bolts are tightened. Every other kits rely only on the press fit of their bushing to keep the differential in place. We use the washer shaped inner sleeve to gain strength through a friction force. We’re the only manufacturer to have taken this into consideration.

Why Delrin?
Many other manufacturers choose Aluminium or Polyurethane as their material. As per aluminium, the increase of noise and vibrations is unbearable. The Delrin assembly is much lighter than aluminium. Delrin is just as solid, while dampening better. The mounts we manufacture can be daily driven with ease. Like the rubber mounts, they will eventually shear or fragment into pieces.

What’s included in this kit?
This kit provides you two replacement for the front differential bushings. It also comes with a replacement for the bigger rear differential bushing. For your information, they replace 2 x 33176770788 and 1 x 33176751808.
