Granted I’ve haven’t tried any other chassis mounted shifters but I’m astounded by the quality and feel of this piece. You absolutely should not wait to buy if you are thinking about one. Short, precise shifts is what you will receive. Don’t forget solid trans mounts to go with it!

Ok so I have a 2001 z3 with a zf transmission. I trired to use the e36 direct fit kit, don’t lol it doesn’t fit, the shape of the z3 tunnel is completely different. The plate will blot on but not in a way that is proper it leaves the shifter assembly clocked to the left not letting all the gears engage. Save your self the hassle and time I had to go through fighting to make it work. Just directly bolt it’s much easier and a had no issues going in all the gears it takes a little to fab up a dust boot and to make it look Oem as possible but nothing you couldn’t do yourself. The guys at drifthq we outstanding with the customer service and helping me figure out what I needed to do plus they are a local speedshop I will be definitely ordering everything I need for my build from them plus 2 day shipping is huge! Shoutout to Alex he was a big help and got me the parts I needed and was well informed with product knowledge. I’m going get with guys and see if they can develop a direct fit kit for the z3 chassis.
