FAQ

1. Which starter should be used with the PMC Motorsport Nissan SR20 - BMW M50 S50 M52 S52 M54 ZF-5 5-speed adapter?

For mounting the adapter, a Nissan SR20 starter must be used.

2. The GETRAG 250 / GETRAG 420 / ZF 310 / ZF 320 / ZF5 gearbox does not fit all holes of the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter.

(Applies to adapters manufactured after 2022) The PMC Motorsport adapter is the most universal adapter available on the market, supporting practically every BMW gearbox. When designing the adapter, we decided on some compromises. This is the case for GETRAG 250 / GETRAG 420 / ZF 310 / ZF 320 / ZF5 gearboxes, where the two upper holes need to be slightly ground in the gearbox housing/bellhousing. This modification does not affect the centering of the engine and gearbox.

3. Can I use the gearbox adapter with a 6-speed GS6-53DZ / GS6-53BZ gearbox?

Yes, the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes available on the market (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). If you want to change the gearbox, you just need to replace the flywheel and clutch disc.

4. Can I use the PMC Motorsport Nissan SR20 - BMW gearbox adapter for ZF 8HP?

Yes, the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes available on the market (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). If you want to change the gearbox to an automatic ZF 8HP gearbox, you must replace the standard flywheel with an 8HP converter adapter (PMC Motorsport).

5. What clutch can I use with the PMC Motorsport flywheel?

The Nissan SR20 - BMW ZF5 flywheel has been designed for the BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58 / BMW E46 M3 / Sachs Performance 883082.001243 clutch pressure plate. Clutches from companies such as ACT / Spec / Tanaci are very often used with our kit (it is important that the custom clutch pressure plate also fits the BMW OE flywheel: BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58). For your gearbox, you should use a clutch disc with the appropriate spline, a dedicated release bearing kit, and a slave cylinder.
