Garagistic 190e Lexan Window Kit - Fits 2.3, 16v, and all other W201

OVERVIEW

If you're looking to save some weight in your 190e race car, these windows are a great place to start. Our windows are 50% lighter than OEM windows, which is some solid weight savings! Our polycarbonate (also known as Lexan) matches the exact shape of OEM windows. One of the best features about these over other windows is that we remove the guesswork. These were designed off 3D scans. That means they fit like factories because they basically are. They even include a 1mm registration mark on all windows at the bottom so you know exactly where to mount them on the rail. You might be asking yourself, are they strong? Well, fun fact, Polycarbonate is commonly used in anti-ballistic panels (aka bulletproof glass), so if that doesn‚t stand testament to its impact absorption, we‚re not sure what else would!

Please note! These are the only windows on the market that will allow you to retain your stock motors if you wanted to do that!

These W201 windows are 4.5mm (.177") thick which makes them legal in Formula D, FIA, WTCC, and most other sanctions (make sure to check your sanctioning body rules before ordering!) Factory glass windows are 3.2mm thick, but we designed these to be 4.5 millimeters thick due to the FIA specifying an absolute MINIMUM thickness of 4mm for Lexan windows. In some cases, you might need to sand edges down if your motor is weak and cannot push the thicker window up in the seal.

For installation with factory power window rail, it's best to overlay our Lexan windows over the factory units and use the holes we provide to mark where to drill before removing the OEM window from the rail. Use a #5 drill to make your holes into a factory metal rail. For that, we recommend using https://www.mcmaster.com/97530A350-97530A351/. That said, using the factory rails is not required if you are gutting the door and don't want to keep the heavy metal components in the door. The rear 1/4 window pops in place of the factory unit using the factory seal.
