Overview

Our Version 2 Billet DSSR for the E9x/E8x 135i, 335i, 335is is updated with new features for increased clearance and compatibility with a wider range of shifter setups. With extremely limited space in the transmission tunnel on these cars, especially when retaining the factory shifter linkage lever arm, creating a DSSR for this chassis application requires a very special design. We’ve undergone many revisions to find the perfect shaped DSSR. Machined out of solid 304 stainless steel, the E9x/E8x N54 DSSR is incredibly strong and durable. The DSSR is laser etched to show which ends is attached to the shifter, which helps to eliminate all the guesswork during installation. This Billet DSSR is designed to be a direct replacement for E9x/E8x N54 RWD and some diesel models equipped with an OEM selector rod part number 25117524722.

WHAT IS A DSSR?

It stands for double shear selector rod. A DSSR will spread the torsional force on both sides of the selector rod instead of the OEM selector rod which connects from one side only. DSSR's are awesome as they help to reduce play in the shifter, (decreases side-to-side motion), which in turn creates a more precise and smooth shift. Now to the details.

Our DSSRs come with zinc coated shoulder bolts instead of pins, to ensure the tightest fit. Please Note: Compatible with OEM style shifters and our Garagistic short shifters (some OEM shifters may need to be slightly filed down to fit).

Please Note: This DSSR is designed to be used with an OEM or Garagistic Late Model BMW selector joint.
