What's the difference between your OEM style solid diff bushings and the "raised" version?
Solid is as the name suggests, solid. Where the risers come in to it is if you have lowered your car the axle angles get messed up. The OEM axles don't work well at high angles and as such can blow your CV joints. By raising your diff you are correcting the axle geometry.

Why not go higher?
The diff physically can not sit any higher in the subframe.

What modifications are required, is this hard to fit?
If running the raised diff bushings you will need to grind a small section on the front of the diff but it is very easy to do. https://drifthq.com/products/gktech-f8x-m2-m3-m4-dual-mount-diff-bracket

Can I install this myself? If so how long will installation take?
Yes, if the diff is out the job will take around 30 minutes to remove the OEM bushings and install the new bushings. If it's in the car, the process is more time consuming and to remove the tail shaft, remove driveshafts etc. will take a few hours for most.

Do these cause much vibration/noise in the cabin?
Not really. Obviously, anything solid or more rigid is going to cause an increase in noise and vibration. However, I'd hardly say that it's noticeable. Chances are if you're installing these you've already got stiff suspension, your car is lowered, you've got an aftermarket exhaust etc.
