E46 BMW REAR CHASSIS REINFORCEMENT PLATES

The E46 chassis while an excellent piece of engineering does have its weaknesses. One of those weaknesses is where the E46 rear subframe mounts to the chassis. These mounting points on the E46 rear chassis are known to crack and fail even when only using stock bushings. We highly recommend reinforcing the rear chassis of your E46 with the Garagistic rear chassis reinforcement plate kit.

What these plates do is thicken and reinforce the metal on the chassis where the rear subframe mounts. This prevents cracking and failure that is common in the E46 especially with stiffer bushings but even with the OEM factory units. We recommend doing this as preventative maintenance for any E46 chassis and as a requirement for any E46 that is to be driven in a performance or spirited manner. Once the chassis is cracked it can be extremely expensive to repair and worst case scenario it can cause the chassis to be unusable.
