Upgrade the bottom end of your 2JZ or 1JZ with Real Street Performance billet steel main caps — a direct replacement for the factory caps and one of the smartest insurance policies you can buy as power climbs.
The OEM caps are genuinely good, which is why a lot of stock-ish builds never touch them. But the more boost and the more crank speed you throw at the engine, the more the rotating assembly tries to walk those caps around. Billet steel gives you significantly more material to resist that abuse, keeping the main journals located and stable when a stock cap would start to flex.
Real Street machines these to tighter tolerances than most caps on the market. In practical terms, that means less material your machinist has to remove to true everything up — which can translate to less time on the mill and a smaller machine-shop bill for you.
This is the right call for anyone racing competitively at a high level, and cheap peace of mind for the weekend warrior who wants the engine to live. Note: like all aftermarket main caps (and even OEM caps swapped from another engine), these require align boring after installation.
