Get rid of that leaky, unreliable and aging plastic master cylinder! Upgrade your race or drift E36 or E46 clutch master cylinder with this unit. No longer are you stuck with the stock master for your engine and transmission swap. This gives you the freedom to choose between 7 sizes offered by Tilton Engineering (sold separately) and gives you a reliable, rebuildable, and professional motorsports master cylinder ready for as many clutch kicks as you can throw at it!

Sizes available from Tilton will be dependent on your clutch and slave setup and we recommend referring to the manufacture specification for correct pairing.

Does not fit the .937 or 1” master cylinders

The only modification you need to work with an OEM pedal is to drill out the hole with a 12mm or 1/2” bit to get rid of the keyway in the pedal. From there the clevis will slide in snug.

You will be required to reuse the forward most OEM bolt that holds your clutch engagement switch.

If you are using your OEM brake master cylinder reservoir, you will need a -4 45 degree pushlock fitting for your rubber line to feed the clutch master cylinder.

You will be required to remove the assist spring on an E36 pedal arm before using.

NEEDED:

  • Tilton 78 Series Master Cylinder

  • 12mm or 1/2 drill bit

  • line to connect your reservoir and slave

  • -4 45 pushlock hose end if using OEM brake master cylinder

  • If using on a E36 pedal, remove the assist spring

INCLUDED:

  • Master cylinder bracket

  • all hardware needed to bolt onto pedal bracket

  • rod end with the correct thread pitch for Tilton master

  • -3an to -3an outlet adapter

  • 9/16 to -4 an inlet adapter (45 degree -4 barb sold separately)

E36 NOTES: You will be required to remove the assist spring on an E36 pedal arm before using. The firewall is very close to the master cylinder on E36, some massaging of the firewall may be required along with a banjo bolt for the outlet port.
