TECH 53 - BMW E30 / E36 / E46 / E8X / E9X Solid Transmission Mount Kit

We know how much motorsport is hard on transmission mounts, we broke many. They play an important role in your drivetrain. It keeps the transmission in place. When it’s torn or worn, the transmission starts to move and puts other drivetrain components at risk of failure.

Do I need solid transmission mounts?
If you plan on driving your car on a racetrack, we do recommend it. The last thing you want during road racing or drifting, is to break down. Track days are not cheap, and requires a lot of preparation. The transmission mounts are one of the few components that gets put through a lot of abuse during these events. It is a cheap fix that will keep you safe from any trouble.
Also, it is recommended for any BMW equipped with a chassis mount (short) shifter. They are known to pop out of gear, or not shifting properly when it’s on rubber transmission mounts. Solid transmission mounts will improve the way your chassis mount shifter feels.

How are solid transmission mounts different from rubber replacements?
They eliminate the flex caused by factory rubber mounts. In other words, the engine’s power is transmitted directly to the drivetrain without losses due to mount movement. You will have a better acceleration and more responsive power delivery. It is ideal for drifting or road racing.

I don’t have access to a lift, can I install this in my driveway?
Yes, this can be done in a driveway. As long as you have jack stands. Lift the transmission with a jack, remove your crossmember, and replace both bushings before reassembly.

What’s included?
We provide two Delrin solid transmission mounts, two 10.9 graded bolt, two zinc coated washers and two nylon insert lock nuts. You do not need to source anything else, all is in there.
This kit is covered with lifetime warranty.
